Kristin Poole - Executive Co-Director and Artistic Director Kristin Poole holds an MA in Modern Art History from the University of Chicago (1989) and a BA in Studio Art and English from Denison University (1980). She has served as Artistic Director at the Center since 1997. Prior to joining the staff at the Center she worked as an Independent Lecturer, Consultant, and Art Historian. Previous experience includes: Director of Chicago International New Art Forms Exposition, Curatorial Assistant, Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago), Director of the Sun Valley Center for the Arts Gallery, and Director of Lill Street Gallery (Chicago). Sally Boettger - Executive Co-Director and Director of Development Sally Boettger earned a BA in American Studies from Yale University. She brings a variety of professional experience to the Center from her roles as Director of New Business Development for advertising sales at Comcast, Director of Administration at the Brandywine Conservancy, Vice President of Brookrock Corporation and Account Executive in institutional equity sales at Smith Barney. Most recently she was the Associate State Director for the Idaho Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. Email Sally

Kristine Bretall - Director of Marketing and Performing Arts Kristine has been with The Center since 2000 and coordinates The Center’s marketing through publications, advertising, website and digital communications. She has transformed her love of attending live performances into booking and coordinating the winter and summer concert series and in bringing artists (both musicians and dancers) into our local schools. Kristine Bretall is a graduate of Middlebury College in Political Science and Spanish and earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Harvard University. Email Kristine

Christl Holzl - Special Events Manager Christl Holzl received a BA in Music from Luther College (1986) and a MA in Performance from the University of Northern Colorado (1988). Her work in the non-profit sector began in development and marketing with the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Youth Symphony and the American Lung Association. Prior to joining the center, Christl worked in the corporate recruiting industry. Email Christl

Britt Udesen - Director of Education and Humanities Britt Udesen joined the staff at The Center in 2005 and is responsible for a wide range of activities including but not limited to planning the lecture series, leading gallery tours for students, creating curriculum for after school classes, directing the Arts & Crafts Festival, working with local schools and spotting Sasquatch, when necessary. Before Britt joined The Center staff she received a degree in Fine Art from Macalester College, managed education programs for the Textile Center of Minnesota, taught bookmaking, taught ESL and tried to perfect her back cast. Courtney Gilbert - Curator of Visual Arts Courtney Gilbert holds Ph.D. and Master’s degrees in art history from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College. Most recently she worked at the Blanton Museum of Art at the University of Texas at Austin, where she coordinated the planning for a major exhibition of Latin American abstract art. Prior to joining The Center, she also taught Art History at Columbia College Chicago, and Texas State University. Email Courtney

Kathryn McNeal - Development Manager Kathryn, who hails from Worcester, MA, graduated from Bowdoin College (2002) and worked for the Animal Rescue League of Boston and as Assistant Marketing Manager for Adirondack Beverages in Massachusetts before joining the Center staff in 2003. Email Kathryn

Laura Caruso - Public Relations Specialist Prior to joining the Center staff in January 2006, Laura served as Director of Publications for the Denver Art Museum. She has also worked as a newspaper reporter and art critic for the Kansas City Star and the Boulder Daily Camera. She holds a degree in art from Middlebury College, VT, and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Colorado. Email Laura

Angela Tsai – Administrative Coordinator Angela holds a BA in Fine Arts from the University of California, San Diego and studied Art History and French at the American University of Paris. Before joining The Center in 2010, she was a Museum Preparator at the Birch Aquarium at Scripps in La Jolla, a tour guide at the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum in San Jose, and a freelance graphic designer. Emilee received her BA in Fine Arts from New York University (2000). Emilee moved to the Wood River Valley in 2005 from Santa Barbara, where she had worked in interior design.
