We more than just museum-quality exhibitions. While you see extraordinary artwork at The Center – you may also tap into the artist speaking about their work, see a film or performance that addresses the same topic, take a class that relates or hear a lecture that takes the ideas deeper still. Our multidisciplinary approach allows you to investigate one theme through many different avenues – enriching your experience and understanding.

Seeing in new ways. Learning to ask questions about art – why it’s made, how it’s made, what it means – we work with teachers and students during gallery visits see art and artists in new ways.

We stimulate conversations. With lectures on current affairs, art history and literature, The Center brings speakers to enrich life in our mountain community.

We inspire lifelong learning. With art classes for adults, teens, kids and parents and kids together – whether you are a novice or tapping into a lost talent, we offer opportunities for exploration and growth.

Artists in schools bring inspiration

We help students learn. By bringing artists and musicians into our local schools, The Center gives our students access to ideas, art forms and performances that are not part of their normal curriculum.

Community coming together with the arts

Bringing the community together. The Center hosts events that are free or low cost that provide an avenue to the arts for everyone in our community. During the winter, a free concert during the Nordic Festival brought over 1000 people out on a winter night – and during the summer our Arts & Crafts Festival gathers artists and musicians in a three day free event that attracts thousands.
