The Sun Valley Center for the Arts wants to create a new home for the arts that will be a gift to the community for generations to come. Our vision is to build a facility that guarantees for the future that the Wood River Valley has a
- Hub of educational, entertaining and inspiring year-round cultural programming
- A resource to help shape future generations and ensures they grow up enriched by exposure to the arts
- A place to gather, celebrate and share experiences that reveal our community's values and common bonds
Designed by renowned architect Tom Kundig, the striking two-story building will feature flexible galleries, a state-of-the-art auditorium, modern classroom, and places to relax, converse or explore ideas. Outside, an ample park and plaza will provide a gathering space for the community and a venue for outdoor sculpture, performances and events. We invite you to picture this exciting future. If you have any questions or want to learn more about the project, please contact us.
Why now?
- Our population has grown and The Center's current facilities do not serve the interests, expectations and potential of our community
- The Arts play a critical role in making the Valley a dynamic place to live, work, raise a family and visit, yet there needs to be a place that guarantees that for the future.
- So much more is possible - from music, film, lectures and meet-the-artist opportunities to traveling exhibitions, more family programming and expanded resources for school tours.
- We're ready…having waited more than eight years for this vision to evolve, we now have the right place, at the right time, and the right team to make it a reality
We're proud of The Center's past, but it's time to think about what our community needs for the future How the New Center will be Different
